Restylane® Description

A cosmetic injectable, such as Restylane®, is a non-surgical alternative to traditional facial rejuvenation. Restylane® Procedure

Restylane® is a simple injection that can be performed during a routine office visit. No anesthesia is required, and no downtime is required following treatment. Patients can opt for Restylane®, Restylane® Silk, or Restylane® Lyft. Restylane® Silk is injected into the mid dermis around the mouth to diminish the appearance of nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and smoker's lines around the lips. As a result, patients can expect temporary improvements to the shape and contour of your lips. Restylane® Lyft is another effective injectable option that targets both smile lines and hollow cheeks. This filler is injected into these areas to temporarily provide youthful-looking definition to the midface.

Your appointment is relatively quick—20 to 30 minutes—and you can return to daily activities directly afterward. Some bruising and swelling may occur at the treatment site, but these side effects will dissipate within a few days. Results are noticeable shortly after treatment and last up to six months. Unfortunately, without regular appointments, results will fade to their original appearance before treatment, so bi-yearly appointments are needed to maintain results.

Unlike other cosmetic injectables, which use chemicals to relax the muscles causing wrinkles, Restylane® is composed of hyaluronic acid, the same natural substance responsible for the supple, youthful appearance of your skin. Instead of relaxing the tense muscles which cause wrinkles, Restylane® targets the wrinkle itself, smoothing its appearance from beneath the skin's surface. This treatment is especially effective for adding a little pout to your pucker while also eliminating signs of aging.
