Rhinoplasty Procedure

Rhinoplasty generally takes about 1 to 3 hours to perform. Patients go under general anesthesia during their rhinoplasty procedure. Small incisions are made inside the nose, and sometimes on the outside of the nose depending on the type of rhinoplasty procedure. Rhinoplasty with outside incisions is called open rhinoplasty, while rhinoplasty with inside incisions is called closed rhinoplasty. The benefit of open rhinoplasty is that it allows our Tampa nose surgeon to have more flexibility in changing the appearance of the nose. Closed rhinoplasty may be preferable in cases where visible scarring is undesired. Cartilage grafts can help alter nose appearance, and are taken from either the nasal septum or the ear. Retrieving cartilage from the nose and ears will not change their appearance. Recovery time from rhinoplasty generally lasts a week. A splint will be used to stabilize the nose, and swelling and bruising may occur. As swelling subsides, the transformative results of your Tampa rhinoplasty will become even more visible.

REVISION RHINOPLASTY PROCEDURE

Revision rhinoplasty can improve upon results of a previous nose surgery. Revision rhinoplasty can also improve breathing following a previous nose surgery. Bumps, bulbous tips, upturned noses, and more can be altered with dermal fillers. Nose fillers are a great option for those that wish to improve the cosmetic appearance of their nose, but would like to visualize their results with nose fillers first.

The best candidates for rhinoplasty will have a strong desire to change their nose appearance. There may be a specific problem they wish to change.
