Rhinoplasty Tampa
Rhinoplasty Description
The nose is one of the first features noticed on the face and rhinoplasty is one of the most sought-out procedures in Tampa. Noses vary in size, and what looks like a proper nose shape on one individual can appear asymmetrical on someone with different facial anatomy. If someone is unsatisfied with their nose size or shape, there is no quick solution to correct this problem, either. The nose is among your most prominent facial features, and slight bumps or asymmetries can have a noticeable effect on your facial profile. Rhinoplasty, otherwise known as nose surgery, can make improvements to the nose cosmetically and functionally.
With just a few simple alterations, the appearance of the nose can dramatically improve a facial profile. Rhinoplasty can also be performed following a traumatic accident to the nose, and can help improve breathing for those with nasal obstruction. Revision rhinoplasty is also available to improve a previous nose surgery. Our Tampa plastic surgeons can correct a previous nose procedure with revision rhinoplasty, and give you the appearance that boosts confidence and self-esteem.

Rhinoplasty Procedure
Rhinoplasty generally takes about 1 to 3 hours to perform. Patients go under general anesthesia during their rhinoplasty procedure. Small incisions are made inside the nose, and sometimes on the outside of the nose depending on the type of rhinoplasty procedure. Rhinoplasty with outside incisions is called open rhinoplasty, while rhinoplasty with inside incisions is called closed rhinoplasty. The benefit of open rhinoplasty is that it allows our Tampa nose surgeon to have more flexibility in changing the appearance of the nose. Closed rhinoplasty may be preferable in cases where visible scarring is undesired. Cartilage grafts can help alter nose appearance, and are taken from either the nasal septum or the ear. Retrieving cartilage from the nose and ears will not change their appearance. Recovery time from rhinoplasty generally lasts a week. A splint will be used to stabilize the nose, and swelling and bruising may occur. As swelling subsides, the transformative results of your Tampa rhinoplasty will become even more visible.
REVISION RHINOPLASTY PROCEDURE
Revision rhinoplasty can improve upon results of a previous nose surgery. Revision rhinoplasty can also improve breathing following a previous nose surgery. Sometimes a patient may feel that their rhinoplasty result was overdone by a less-skilled rhinoplasty surgeon, or that it did not fully correct cosmetic or functional issues of the nose. Dr. Bassin and his team of Tampa plastic surgeons can help correct or improve upon previous rhinoplasty results.
NON-SURGICAL RHINOPLASTY
For patients that wish to improve their nose appearance but don’t wish to undergo a rhinoplasty procedure, non-surgical rhinoplasty can be an effective option. Non-surgical rhinoplasty utilizes injections rather than surgical techniques. Nose fillers can take as little as 15 minutes to perform, and will give patients visible improvements. Bumps, bulbous tips, upturned noses, and more can be altered with dermal fillers. Nose fillers are a great option for those that wish to improve the cosmetic appearance of their nose, but would like to visualize their results with nose fillers first.
CANDIDATES FOR RHINOPLASTY
The best candidates for rhinoplasty will have a strong desire to change their nose appearance. There may be a specific problem they wish to change. The nose appearance may be too bulbous, upturned, downturned, or the nostrils may be too narrow or wide. Our Tampa rhinoplasty surgeons can help address and correct the cosmetic appearance of the nose and problems stemming from a deviated septum. Patients that suffer from breathing problems due to deviated septums or other underlying issues can find great relief from rhinoplasty. Rhinoplasty can significantly improve a patient’s quality of life if they suffer from breathing problems daily.
